Method & Philosophy

Studying an instrument is a joy, and opens doors in the world never imagined before.

Children who study violin will benefit from improved hand-eye coordination, spacial reasoning, focus, attention span, & attention to detail.

Every child has the ability to learn to play violin; studying violin will increase every individual's abilities.

I encourage adults who desire to learn to play to do so! It takes courage, dedication, an can be immensely satisfying.

I work with individuals and families to develop the right combination of materials for each person. Some of the ingredients I use regularly are the Suzuki repertoire and techniques, Appalachian and New England style fiddle, Eastern European fiddle and repertoire, improvisation, and supplemental pieces and studies.
